Forget the zombie apocalypse, freakin’ Furbys are back. Hasbro has announced the re-release of the creepiest toy from your childhood coming this fall. New to the 2012 edition, Furby is a flamboyant shade of aquamarine in a 5-inch-tall frame that can dance, wiggle its ears, and blink with its LCD eyes. Like its predecessor, Furby can interact with other Furbys in their secret Furby language, “Furbish.”
Also new, there is no off button. When I think back to my Furby years, which eventually resulted in them having their batteries removed and hidden in a closet, I don’t recall my Furby ever being quiet even when it was allegedly turned off. Hence, the seclusion.
And it wouldn’t be 2012 without a Furby iOs app that sends inaudible code signals to the toy, so Hasbro’s got your back on that too.
The new Furbys will be released in September and retail at $60.

And just for fun, here’s the viral video of Siri and Furby having a super weird conversation.
