Gen X-ers hate Millennials. Millennials hate Gen X-ers. The sky is blue; what else is new?
TIME magazine’s May 20th cover is calling my generation the Me Me Me Generation, as if no other generation before ours was hopelessly short-sighted and navel-centric which the Atlantic was right to point out. Writer Joel Stein is claiming to have empirical evidence to show that we’re all disenchanted, narcissistic, self-aggrandizing egoists, which doesn’t really hold up when TIME has proven to be a generational troll over the years.
Speaking of old people not getting the young, Alyssa Rosenberg at Think Progress has an alternate thesis: “If what irritates non-Millennials about the current generation of young adults, male and female alike, isn’t just that they’re self-absorbed, or entitled, or dependent, but self-absorbed, entitled, and dependent in feminine ways, that’s telling.”
I ain’t mad tho, ’cause millennials basically run the Interwebz, and we ain’t afraid to Photoshop the hell out of silly shit.
