There are six episodes in the Star Wars saga, right? Except that there are actually six and a half. Don’t you remember when you got to meet Chewbaca’s immediate family and he and Han are about to go quaintly travelling around the universe, spreading holiday cheer? You probably don’t, do you? But, yes it’s real, and the Star Wars Holiday Special is as crummy as it sounds. In fact, it’s been called “The Horrible Holiday Special that Nobody Talks About” (mostly by George Lucas himself). In fact, it was never re-broadcast after its premiere in 1978 and never found a hard release, because Lucas wanted it gone. But — suck it George — the internet loves bringing stuff people want to forget about directly into the spotlight, and that’s what the internet did with your holiday special.
The most embarrassing part is that it features prominent members of the original cast, including: Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), and Carrie Fischer (Princess Leia).
