Kate Bush’s got a reputation. Not that that’s a bad thing. Her track record is incredibly inspiring: she’s worked with pretty much every person in music who matters on Earth, graced the covers of countless magazines, been loved by both disparate gay and straight fans, and pulled herself out of alleged emotional troubles.
But Kate’s got an inspiring new hobby, and it’s a surprising one: Skateboarding. Yes, skateboarding!
And she’s taking it very seriously. From an interview with NME, she says: “It was important for me to get across the sense of power [in my skateboarding] that I’d associated with male energy . . . I was very much wanting to express myself as a woman in [skateboarding] rather than as a woman wanting to [skate] as powerful as a man.”
Tumblr blog Skate Bush has taken it upon themselves to document Ms. Bush’s foray into the x-treme sport. It showcases Kate in a variety of skateboarding situations, performing such stunts as “lien air” (seen above), “barefoot layback” and “bombing down that hill.”
What really, can’t Kate Bush do?
