Be forewarned: the following video is quite graphic, sure to offend those who don’t take kindly to acts of machismo — such as breaking fluorescent light bulbs on one’s face, taking a sledgehammer to one’s chest, or having a car roll over one’s entire body, and then laughing and high-fiving one’s similarly bloodied friends when its all over.
The Warriors of Goja, India’s most boorish Sikhs, appeared recently on India’s Got Talent and performed all of the above feats, plus more (just watch the video). To a table of horrified judges, the hairy-chested crew scurry around the stage enacting complete chaos, hitting light bulb tube after brick after light bulb tube off of their bodies, and are quickly surrounded by a cloud of mystical rising destruction dust (just watch the video).
I definitely laughed along with the bad-ass psychos as the video ended (and attempted to high five our senior editor, but he was all like, “Jess, I’m editing”). But now, after letting it stew for an hour or so, I can’t help feeling bummed about the petty 300,000 rupees of pure cash money (about CAD$6000) that they won for their spectacular performance. How much do they win on the American equivalent of this show? Like a million dollars? They seem like chill guys: 50 Cent must be able to hire them for something.
