Royal Tour 2012: Spotting Prince Charles and Camilla in Toronto
To celebrate Canada's monarchist heritage, or if you are interested in what the royal couple have planned for the day, here is what they will be doing in Toronto

Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, will spend most of their Tuesday in sunny Toronto, participating in a variety of royal events to honour the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, taking place in early June.

If you missed the royal couple at the Victoria Day fireworks display at Ashbridges Bay on Monday night, do not fret, there are still several opportunities to catch a glimpse of the pair in action.

Tuesday’s tour starts with a Diamond Jubilee Medal ceremony and reception at Queen’s Park, and will conclude with a visit to the Fort York Armoury, for an event that commemorates the War of 1812. The royal couple, who landed in New Brunswick on Sunday, will complete their four-day tour of Canada in Regina, and will head back to Buckingham Palace on Thursday.

The couple last visited Toronto in 2009, for Camilla’s first visit. Though Charles has been privy to several memorable stays in the city, including a 1979 entrance to the Royal York Hotel that rivals his notable smooch with Ginger Spice, this trip bears special significance — an ode to the longest-serving monarch, his mother.

On a similar note, though newlyweds and heirs-to-be Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, took a Canadian cross-country tour last summer, Toronto was not part of their agenda.

To celebrate Canada’s monarchist heritage, or if you are simply interested as to what the royal couple have planned for the day, here is what Prince Charles and Camilla will be doing in Toronto – complete with infographic:
