In 1987, Steve Wilhite created the the Graphics Interchange Format, better know as the GIF. 25 years and countless GIF aided memes later, and the format is still going strong. In video directed by Sean Pecknold, brother of Fleet Foxes singer Robin Pecknold, SmartWater and Moving Still: A GIF Festival try to answer the all important questions regarding the format.
