Apple Senior VP of iOS Software Scott Forstall
Scott Forstall, the man now known for driving you off a cliff or into a mall thanks to iOS Maps, will be leaving Apple at the end of the year. Apple announced the Senior VP of iOS Software’s departure on Monday. Sources are now saying that Forstall is getting the boot for refusing to sign his name to the Apple Maps apology letter, released earlier this month and signed by CEO Tim Cook.
Also according to sources, Forstall is, well, kind of a jerk. The Verge says, “Forstall is abrasive and disliked by a number of others at his level inside Apple.”
Allegedly, Head Designer Johny Ive refused to attend meetings with Forstall unless Cook was present.
Forstall is also said to have thought that complaints regarding iOS maps were exaggerated.
Forstall will serve as an adviser to Cook for the remainder of his employment.
