Last week we told you how Rob Ford’s latest media adventure is taking him to Conrad Black’s television program, theZoomer, which airs on the religious television network VisionTV.
Today, the first of what is sure to be many extensively analyzed and patently ridiculous statements from the interview was released as a part of the promotion for the episode’s premiere tonight at 9.
In the clip, provided by VisionTV, a sweat-glistened Ford (well-regarded expert of changing the focus of his indiscretions) offers to take a drug test, presumably right in the room where he’s doing the interview. “If they want me to do a drug test–a urine test–I’ll do one right now. If there’s any drugs in my system…I have no problem doing that test,” Ford tells a stunned Conrad Black.
Black responds like any sane human would, stating, “Rob, there’s absolutely no need to do a urine test right now.”
Ford laughs, the obvious irony of his offer being how easy it must be to pass a drug test when you already know when it’s going to occur.
It’s a boon to Canadian television that Ford is bringing his media circus home. It’ll be interesting to survey the damage tomorrow. Which, sure as you’re born, we will do.
