A Toronto man who was found snooping around the forest in north Durham was stopped by the police and accused of growing weed. According to the man, he was actually on a serious Sasquatch hunt. He was just trying to find Bigfoot, okay? He was investigating some tracks.
The site was under police surveillance after neighbours reported seeing men approach with shovels over a span of a few weeks. The man in question was found in the forest and put under arrest for possession of a controlled substance. A search of his clothes and car found nothing. Eventually he was released with just a fine for $70 or trespassing on the Durham site and a warning not to return.
Marczenko insists he was simply pursuing an assignment for the Ontario Wildlife Field and hasn’t abandoned his story. He told the National Post: “I feel like an apology needs to come from the officer and the department for not taking this seriously.”
Later, three men were later arrested after a few marijuana plants were uncovered, while Bigfoot has yet to be found.
